After the Break

I am back to my journal shelf after a long break. I was busy drinking milk and eating honey in this land of “milk and honey.” What they didn’t tell you is that the bees sting and you can hardly have a bite of the honey. The milk spills before you can secure a glass of it. In my opinion the road to success is nonexistent, you have to create your own path. There is sweat, tears, anger, and at times stubbed toes. There was no balance and at some point I almost “tumbled.” Anyway, Lyfe is a journal and this is mine.

2020 was a difficult year for all of us. Covid-19 began hitting the cities which led to an abrupt switch from hybrid work model to telecommuting. At first I was scared because I had never worked remotely. I began working in the comfort of my home even though I missed my little peaceful office and my lunch breaks at Bocelli pizza place.

2021 is the year I made the big shift from the countryside to the desert. I definitely missed the countryside life in the little town where everybody knows everybody. The desert on the other hand has better job opportunities, a better lifestyle, better and a variety of food, malls, diversity, and of course the city life. I can’t regret as this is the best move I ever made. I was lucky enough to secure a full time job in my profession. I continued to work remotely in my new job. Towards the end of the year, I visited motherland after a long time and had a great vacation with family 😊.

By 2022 I was acquainted with the desert life and even adapted to the extremely hot weather. I had surgery in the middle of the year and at the same time I was in the middle of graduate school, not to forget my full time job. It was quite overwhelming but I managed my time well. I made new friends and joined new meetup groups such as “The Journaling Club.” Life got interesting despite the hot temperatures during summer. I struggled with getting friends who are similar to me but I was able to fit in “temporarily.

All I can say is that the best part was spending 2021 Christmas and the New Year of 2022 with my favorite people on earth (my family) before getting back to the land of cactus and aloe vera. Those are the two plants that are popular in the desert. To God be the Glory.
